What is the difference between automotive Ethernet cable and regular Ethernet cable?

 

 

Automotive Ethernet cables are high-performance cables designed for data communications in modern vehicles, designed to meet the needs of automotive electronic systems for high bandwidth, low latency, and strong anti-interference capabilities. 3. Connector type: Automotive Ethernet cables usually use dedicated connectors (such as FAKRA, HSD, H-MTD, MATEnet, etc.), which are more durable and can ensure the stability of vehicle connections. Ordinary Ethernet cables usually use RJ45 connectors.

 

4. Bandwidth and data transmission: Automotive Ethernet cables are designed to meet the low-latency and high-bandwidth requirements of vehicle communications. Common automotive Ethernet rates are 100 Mbps and 1 Gbps. Ordinary Ethernet cables are usually used in higher bandwidth scenarios, such as Gigabit Ethernet or higher.

 

Therefore, automotive Ethernet cables are more focused on meeting the specific needs of the automotive industry in design and application.
