What are the cables for servo motors?

1、 Types of servo motor cables:
Power cable:
The power cable of the servo motor is mainly used to transmit the electrical energy required by the motor. This type of cable usually has a large cross-sectional area to ensure sufficient current transmission capacity. When selecting power cables, it is necessary to consider parameters such as current load and voltage to meet the power requirements of servo motors.
Feedback cable:
Servo systems typically require feedback devices to monitor the position, speed, and other parameters of the motor in real-time to achieve closed-loop control. The feedback cable is used to connect the servo motor and feedback device, transmitting accurate feedback signals. Common types of feedback cables include encoder cables, grating ruler cables, etc., and their selection should be determined based on the specific application requirements.
Control cable:
The control cable is used to transmit control signals and connect the servo motor to the controller. These signals include start stop signals, speed setting signals, position setting signals, etc. The quality and transmission performance of the control cable are directly related to the response speed and stability of the servo system.
2、 Characteristics of servo motor cables:
Immunity:
The working environment of servo motors is complex, and there are various sources of electromagnetic interference, such as electromagnetic induction, electromagnetic radiation, etc. Therefore, the servo motor cable needs to have strong anti-interference ability to ensure stable and reliable transmission of signals.
Wear resistance:
Servo motors usually need to operate at high speeds and frequencies, so cables are susceptible to friction and vibration during frequent movements. The cable should have good wear resistance to ensure long-term reliable operation.
High temperature resistance:
In some special industrial environments, servo motors may face high temperature conditions, such as high-temperature baking, smelting, and other scenarios. The cable should have good high-temperature resistance to ensure stable operation in high-temperature environments.
Bending performance:
Due to the frequent change of direction required by servo motors during movement, the bending performance of cables is a key indicator. The cable should have good flexibility to adapt to the bending needs under different motion states.
3、 Application of servo motor cables in different application fields:
Machine tool field:
In CNC machine tools, servo motors are widely used to achieve high-precision and high-speed motion control. For machine tools, cables need to have good wear resistance and anti-interference properties to ensure stable operation and high-precision machining.
Automated production line:
In automated production lines, servo motors are connected to PLC or other control equipment through cables to achieve precise control of the automated production process. The cable needs to have good anti-interference and high-temperature resistance in this scenario.
Robotics:
The servo motor is the core component of industrial robot joint drive, and the application of cables in robot systems is more complex. In addition to meeting the characteristics mentioned above, the cable also needs to have good bending performance to adapt to the flexible movement of robot joints.
