Premier Cable PCM-0972 is a CAT6A IX Industrial Ethernet cable assembly featuring an asymmetrical straight-to-90° downward architecture.

 

One end uses a Hirose IX40G-A-10S-CV straight A-Key plug, while the opposite end uses an IX40G-A-10S-CVL1 A-Key plug with a 90° downward cable exit.

 

This configuration is ideal when one device provides sufficient cable clearance while the other Ethernet port is located in a compact panel, upper cabinet position, industrial switch, or near a downward wiring duct.

 

Unlike dual-straight cables, PCM-0972 changes cable direction only where necessary, making it especially suitable for point-to-point links between machines, PLCs, switches, cameras, servo drives and industrial controllers.

Control Cabinet Faceplate Bridging

PCM-0972 can be used to bridge high-speed Ethernet connections between external HMIs, operator panels, or equipment interfaces and internal PLCs, industrial switches, remote I/O, or master controllers. The straight end provides a direct entry from the faceplate or wall-mounted enclosure, while the CVL1 90° downward end immediately redirects the cable toward lower PLC modules, wiring ducts, or communication devices. This avoids the outward projection and return bend typically required with straight connectors. The configuration is especially useful in shallow control cabinets, wall-mount enclosures, and dense DIN-rail systems, reducing cable crossover and door interference while creating a cleaner and more serviceable internal network path.

Advanced Machine Vision Systems

PCM-0972 is suitable for high-speed network connections among 3D industrial cameras, high-frame-rate vision sensors, image acquisition cards, and semiconductor AOI inspection equipment. The straight plug can connect directly to embedded computing boxes, IPCs, or vision controllers, while the CVL1 90° downward connector is ideal for camera-side or space-constrained ports, allowing the cable to route naturally along machine frames, rails, or enclosures. Its CAT6A shielded construction also helps reduce EMI from servo motors, lighting controllers, and industrial power systems, supporting stable transmission of high-resolution images, inspection data, and real-time machine-vision information.

Q1: Since one end is straight and the other is 90° downward, are there recommended wiring directions?

A1: There are no electrical orientation limits. We generally recommend plugging the straight end (CV) into deep ports or standard open-face switches and cameras, while connecting the 90° downward elbow (CVL1) to dense servo amplifiers or PLCs above wire ducts to compress depth usage inside narrow control cabinets.

Q2: Does the impedance discontinuity at the straight-to-90° elbow break Cat6A 10Gbps data throughput?
