What is the Difference between M12 and M18?

M12 connectors and M18 connectors are two types of connectors with different specifications. They differ in appearance size, number of pins, electrical performance, etc.

The outer diameter of the M12 connector is 12mm. Both the plug and the socket have 2 to 12 pins, and 4, 5, and 8 pins are commonly used. M12 connectors can be used to transmit power, control signals, analog signals, and digital signals such as Ethernet.

The outer diameter of the M18 connector is 18mm, and both the plug and the socket have 2 to 19 pins, and 3, 4, 5, and 8 pins are commonly used. The M18 connector can be used to transmit digital signals such as power supply, control signal, analog signal, encoder signal and Ethernet.

Therefore, M12 connectors are usually smaller and lighter than M18 connectors, and are suitable for compact application scenarios, while M18 connectors are suitable for occasions that require more pins and higher signal transmission requirements.

In short, both M12 connectors and M18 connectors are common connector types, and which connector to choose needs to consider specific application scenarios and requirements.
