What are the Common Faults of Wiring Harness?
Wiring harnesses play an important role in a car, but they are also prone to failure. Here are some common types of wiring harness failures:
Short circuit: The wires in the wiring harness may be short-circuited due to moisture, wear, aging, etc., resulting in abnormal circuits. A short circuit can cause a fuse in the circuit to blow and certain systems of the vehicle to fail.
Open circuit: The wires in the wiring harness may be disconnected due to pulling, bending, damage, etc., resulting in the failure of the circuit to be energized and failure of some vehicle systems.
Wire aging: The wires in the wiring harness may age due to long-term use, the outer insulation layer is cracked and brittle, and the inner conductor of the wire is oxidized, resulting in abnormal circuits or system failures.
Connector failure: The connectors in the wiring harness may cause circuit abnormalities or system failures due to reasons such as falling off, loosening, and oxidation.
