Premier Cable PCM-ZC-0189 uses a 4-port GEMnet female to 4 × MATEnet male architecture. Four independent high-speed channels are consolidated at the GEMnet controller-side interface and extended individually through four MATEnet male branches. Compared with a female-to-female configuration, the male breakout side can mate directly with compatible MATEnet female interfaces, reducing the need for additional gender adapters in vehicle-network integration.
Each MATEnet male branch corresponds to an independent high-speed channel within the GEMnet interface, without electrical paralleling or passive signal duplication. MATEnet is based on TE's proven NanoMQS terminal system and is designed for automotive robustness while supporting both UTP and STP cable configurations. Defined channel mapping helps maintain organized point-to-point connections for cameras, sensors, ECUs and test modules.

Installation Requirements
Before installation, verify the GEMnet female interface, port count, key code and mating connector, and confirm that each MATEnet male branch mates with the corresponding MATEnet female device interface. Channel 1–4 mapping, branch length, connector orientation and routing should be defined in the engineering drawing. PCM-ZC-0189 is a passive extension/breakout cable without a PHY, Ethernet switch, amplifier or protocol converter.
Manufacturing Process
Manufacturing focuses on maintaining accurate and traceable channel mapping between the multi-port GEMnet interface and four MATEnet male branches. Differential-pair stripping, terminal crimping, shielding, branch length and connector orientation must be controlled, with individual pin assignments verified to prevent cross-mapping, shorts or miswiring. Finished assemblies can be validated for continuity, insulation, Hi-Pot and high-speed signal integrity according to OEM requirements.
Service Life
PCM-ZC-0189 is intended for long-term fixed automotive high-speed data connections rather than frequent consumer-style mating. TE's MATEnet platform uses automotive-grade NanoMQS terminals, with published environmental data covering -40°C to +105°C and earlier performance documentation specifying a minimum of 20 mating cycles. Finished-harness lifetime should be validated against the actual cable construction, mounting method and vehicle environment.

Product Features
4-Port GEMnet to 4 MATEnet Branches
A single 4-port GEMnet female interface consolidates four independent high-speed channels and distributes them through four MATEnet male branches. This reduces connector concentration and harness clutter around HPCs, ADAS controllers and central computing platforms while preserving flexible routing to individual devices.
Independent Channel Mapping & Direct Mating
"4 In 1" represents four consolidated but independent high-speed channels rather than one Ethernet signal duplicated four ways. Each MATEnet male branch maps to a defined GEMnet channel and can mate directly with compatible MATEnet female interfaces, reducing extra adapters and simplifying the physical link and BOM.

GEMnet-to-MATEnet Cross-Platform Integration
The harness combines GEMnet and MATEnet automotive high-speed interfaces to bridge next-generation multi-gigabit Ethernet SerDes controllers with established 100 1000BASE-T1 MATEnet devices. It supports platform migration and cross-generation integration, while final link speed remains dependent on the complete system.
Flexible OEM Four-Branch Customization
Overall cable length, individual branch lengths, channel mapping, key code, cable construction, labeling and validation requirements can be customized for specific OEM architectures, allowing each branch to be routed independently to cameras, radar, LiDAR, ECUs or test modules.
Core Application Scenarios
ADAS & Multi-Camera Systems
Suitable for high-speed links between ADAS domain controllers, central computing platforms and multiple MATEnet-equipped cameras. One 4-port GEMnet female interface consolidates the controller-side channels, while four MATEnet male branches route independently to front, side, rear or surround-view camera modules.

Autonomous Radar & LiDAR Networks
Designed for distributed links between autonomous-driving HPCs or domain controllers and LiDAR, millimeter-wave radar and other sensing devices. Four MATEnet male branches can be routed independently according to sensor location, while the GEMnet side consolidates the high-speed channels at the central computing platform.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q1: This cable links a TE GEMnet female to 4 MATEnet males; how is it physically mated within automotive Ethernet layouts?
A1: Native interfaces molded onto vehicle hardware hulls (like ECUs and electronic gateways) are almost exclusively male pin headers, while the lead wires pulled from ADAS cameras or radar sensors are also typically male plugs. This PCM-ZC-0189 features an asymmetric female-to-male topology, serving perfectly as a "reverse routing extension jumper": technicians clip its locked GEMnet female terminus directly into the gateway's male hull, and then plug the 4 separate MATEnet male terminations into the female extension lines running from the sensor side, executing seamless cross-vendor deployment without wire-splicing.
Q2: Does a female-to-male conversion trigger massive characteristic impedance steps across hybrid interfaces, causing severe packet drops at gigabit volumes?
A2: If spliced using common hand-crimping routines, the radical variant across pin footprints spikes impedance jumps past 20 ohms, fully paralyzing streams. Premier Cable overcomes this by optimizing internal wire junctions and transition PCB traces via micro-scale EM simulation layout, and nesting a fully enclosed metallic quad-chamber physical compartment matrix prior to potting. This clamps impedance jumps well inside safe tolerance margins, delivering flat return and insertion loss curves that guide full-duplex differential flows at gigabit volumes cleanly.
