The typical light output ranges from 500 to 5000 lumens (lm). Therefore an electrical power of 5–50 W is needed. By using a motion sensor or a timer the light need not be switched on all night. This means the daily energy demand will vary from a few tens of Watt-hour to a maximum of one kilo Watt-hour per day.
