CAN Bus

The CAN network of a general fuel vehicle can be divided into the following five CAN buses

1. PT CAN (PowerTrain CAN ) Powertrain CAN bus

PT CAN is responsible for vehicle power and is the CAN bus with the highest signal priority and signal transmission rate in the vehicle CAN network.

2. CH CAN (Chassis CAN) chassis control CAN bus

CH CAN is responsible for braking/stabilizing/steering of the vehicle chassis and 4 wheels. Since it involves vehicle braking/power steering, etc., its network signal priority is also high.

3. Body CAN body control bus

Body CAN is responsible for the management and control of some intelligent hardware on the body to improve comfort/safety, and its network signal has a lower priority because the above devices are auxiliary devices.

4. Info CAN ( Infomercial CAN ) bus for entertainment system

Info CAN is an auxiliary optional device, so the priority is also low, and it is mainly responsible for the management and control of some intelligent hardware on the body that improve entertainment.

5. DiagCAN ( Diagnose CAN ) diagnostic control bus

DiagCAN bus mainly provides remote diagnosis function, only one ECU.

The basic unit of the CAN network is the ECU node, which is the ECU control unit in the intelligent hardware device on the car. For example, ABS (Anti-lock Braking System) is a set of intelligent equipment specially used to prevent the wheels from being locked during the braking process of the vehicle. The more luxurious the car today, the more ECUs, the more intelligent control hardware, and the more expensive the relative price. In general, an ordinary family car has about 25 ECUs.
