Q: Why does the PROFIBUS DP connector need an external resistor? Doesn't your PROFIBUS DP connector have built-in resistors?

 

A: Premier Cable In order to provide better quality, the process used by our PROFIBUS DP connector is injection molding. Injection molding cannot fit a switch inside the connector to control the resistance. So it needs to be used with our external resistor. Just plug in the resistor when you need it, and just take it off when you don't need it.
