How to Restore the Factory Settings of the Switch through WEB or Serial Console



Solution


1. WEB mode:


A. Log in to the switch through the WEB, configure the IP address of the computer and the switch in the same network segment, enter the maintenance IP of the switch on the web page, and enter the user name and password. For details, please refer to the user manual of the switch.


B. Enter [System Management] - [File Management] menu bar, in the file management page, you can restore the factory settings.


2. Serial port (Console) mode


A. Use a serial configuration cable to connect the configuration port of the switch and the serial port of the computer. If it is a laptop, you need to use a USB-to-serial cable and install the serial port driver correctly.


B. Open HyperTerminal on the computer: Start->Programs->Accessories->Communications->HyperTerminal.


C. You will need to create a new connection when you open the HyperTerminal, and then you must select the communication port connected to the switch and configure the serial port parameters.


Serial port parameters


Baud rate: 115200, data bits=8, parity bits=none, stop bits=1, flow control=none


D. After the HyperTerminal is configured, enter the user name and password, the default user name is: admin, the password is: admin, and then press the Enter key to enter the console program.


E. Serial port configuration command


Through the serial command line, the switch provides the following commands


default: restore factory default configuration

exit: exits command line configuration mode

help: show help

hostname: sets the hostname

ip: set*4 IP address

show: shows *4 IP address

reboot: reboot the system
